  1. 三種寶貴的事物。《老子·第六七章》：「我有三寶，持而保之，一曰慈，二曰儉，三曰不敢為天下先。」《六韜·卷一·文韜·六守》：「太公曰：『大農、大工、大商，謂之三寶。』」

  2. 佛教以佛陀是佛寶，佛的教法是法寶，出家團體為僧寶，此三者能令人止惡、行善、離苦、得樂，極為尊貴，故稱為「三寶」。《賢劫經·卷一》：「敬三寶本決眾疑網，奉行慇懃而不休廢。」南朝梁·王琰《冥祥記·陳秀遠》：「少奉三寶，年過耳順，篤業不衰。」
